Frosted!

While our hope for snow has passed, our frozen mornings have been quite beautiful. So I braved the cold, bundled up, and grabbed my camera to snap a few photos.

  1. I just LOVE the frost! Reminds me of the frost fairies in Tinkerbell's Secret of the Wings. haha. They explain that the frost is like a little blanket that traps in the warm heat and protects the flowers from getting frozen. Sadly, my succulents haven't been so lucky. Since their leaves are full of water they just freeze and then melt away (it literally looks like they are melting!) with the ice. :( I'm looking forward to revamping my succulent collection this year though so I'm enjoying letting nature take it's course and weed out the weak ones. :) Thank you for sharing you beautiful pictures!

    1. "You know you're a mom when...things remind you of Tinkerbell!" ;) Poor little succulents. I pulled mine closer to the house, and they're holding on okay. It helps that I keep them potted. And hey! Some of my inside ones are blooming! That's never happened before!

  3. Ha! I laughed at Steph's comment- natural selection at it's finest! :)

The morning after it was supposed to snow the frost lasted on our front grass all day, the fun never hit it- so it felt like snow! In the backyard it only melted where the sun hit, so we had a crazy pattern of frost where the shade protected it. I LOVE the cold weather, as you know :)

    1. That's supposed to say- the SUN never hit it. Sounds like there was a party in my front yard!
